QR Codes

Style, download, and share your place's QR poster.

Every place on Morsly gets a QR code. Scanning it opens the place’s menu on the guest’s phone — no app, no sign-in. When ordering is enabled, guests can browse the menu, add items to their cart, and send orders directly from the same page.

In this guide: Generate a QR poster, choose a style, print it for your venue, and troubleshoot common issues.

Before you begin: You need a place on Morsly with a published menu. If you haven’t created one yet, start with Getting Started.

Get your QR poster

  1. From your place page, tap Share QR code.
  2. You’ll see a live preview, generated from a short link (.../p/{your-place}) that always redirects to your current menu — so updates show up immediately and you never need to reprint for a menu change.
  3. Choose a format — Card, Square, or A4 sheet.
  4. Pick a color from the presets, or choose a custom color. If a color would be too light to scan reliably, you’ll see a warning.
  5. Toggle Show place name on or off.
  6. Share code (on devices with native sharing) or Download QR to save the image. Use Copy link (or Share link) to send the plain URL instead of the image.
The QR poster sheet: a live QR preview, Format (Card/Square/A4 sheet), Color presets, a Show place name toggle, the short link, and a Download QR button

Anyone assigned to the place — including waiters, cooks, cashiers, and translators, not just owners and managers — can open and share the QR poster, so printing it can be delegated to whoever’s on shift.

  • Print at least 8 cm × 8 cm (3 in × 3 in).
  • Place it at eye level — on table tents, counter signs, or window decals.
  • Keep surrounding text minimal. The code itself is the invitation.
  • Use a matte finish to avoid glare under restaurant lighting.

Frequently asked questions

Guests report the code doesn’t scan

  • Check the contrast warning when styling the poster — a color that’s too light won’t scan reliably.
  • Make sure the print is at least 8 cm × 8 cm and not distorted.
  • Test the code yourself with a phone camera before printing in bulk.

The short link is tied to one place. If you manage more than one, make sure you’re sharing the poster from the place you meant to.

Can I use my own QR code generator?

Yes. The short link (.../p/{your-place}) is a regular URL. You can copy it and generate a QR code with any tool you prefer. The Morsly poster just gives you a styled version with presets.

Does the QR code expire?

No. The code and the short link are tied to your place, not a date. The menu it points to updates automatically whenever you make changes.
